As a wedding photographer in Seattle, I get to meet all kinds of wonderful people! When I met this sweet bride, I knew right away that I was going to be part of something special. We met casually over dinner, last winter, all bundled up and frozen, warming up over a cup of tea at Panera Bread. We hit it off right away, her energy and positive vibes won me right away, and I said YES to Tricia in an instant! YES, I want to be your wedding photographer, YES, YES, YES!
Tricia (short for Patricia) told me all about the wedding, her vision, plans and things that were important for her to have captured. Her fiance, Mark – an architect – were going to be married in Woodway, at his parents’ residence. Mark’s mom is the mayor of the Town of Woodway, so I was very honored to photograph their backyard wedding, with the Cascade Mountains and the Puget Sound as a breathtaking backdrop.
The ladies got ready at the beautiful historic Fairmount Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle, in a gorgeous suite, with the most perfect lighting for these candid shots, while the groom and groomsmen got prepared at his house in Woodway. We all met downtown for the first look, which took place at the Harbor Steps, in the heart of Seattle.
The fairytale wedding continued in Woodway, with a ceremony by the water, gorgeous sunset views, live music, touchy toasts and a romantic dinner. The night ended with singing, dancing, a sparkler exit and a funny attempt of a smoke bomb (very popular prop for photography these days), all contributing to fantastic photos.
