I moved to Seattle a couple of years ago. The excitement was up to the roof as soon as I set foot on Washington ground at Sea-Tac airport. With a 5 year old and 2 Rottweilers traveling with me, the only thing that I could think of was: I made it to the Sleepless City, Seattle – I am here! I found my way to Mercer Island, rented this first floor apartment in Shorewood Heights and started my new life. Little did I know that at that same time, a wonderful couple moved in the same building, corner opposites from me, at the 3rd floor. I used to see Cruz and Robert walking Luna all the time and playing with her right outside my door in the backyard. My son Rowan would get excited when he used to see the three of them, and always snuck out to play ball with baby Luna, who was just a pup at the time.

Cruz and Robert became our friends. They both worked until late afternoon, and because Luna was so little, they asked me if I would be able to take her out a couple of times a day. I worked from home, so having my own schedule made it very easy to help them out – besides, how could I have said ‘No’ to baby Luna’s cuteness? Not in a million years!

At the time Cruz and Robert were dating. But one day Cruz called me in excitement to ask me if I could take their engagement photos! Such great news!!! Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

We chose Alki Beach because of the Seattle skyline. The sunset was pretty late when we had our shoot, so we took our time walking around and taking advantage of the beautiful natural light.

The weather was amazing, breezy and nice. We found some shade that was perfect for some snuggles.

If you don’t know me, I am a sucker for sun rays and gorgeous clouds in my photographs. I chase sunsets in my sleep. We didn’t have the clouds but we got blessed with the most amazing light.

And here is baby Luna too, she let me snatch the cutest photo of her!

Seeing Cruz and Robert together was like watching a romance movie on a Friday night. Anyone could feel their connection, and I was the lucky one in the front row.

Pretty amazing, right? We walked, we laughed, we danced, we had a great time, because after all, that’s what this is all about: having a blast and capturing every bit of it, so we can hold on to it forever.

How cute are they?

Unfortunately I could not be their photographer, as they got married in Idaho, but I wish them all the best there is, and many happy years together!
