If you’re searching for a wedding venue that combines modern luxury, breathtaking waterfront views, and an unforgettable guest experience, The Alice in Destin deserves a spot at the top of your list.
Nestled along Choctawhatchee Bay, The Alice offers a fresh take on destination weddings. With elegant waterfront spaces, charming cottages, private docks, lush landscaping, and one of the most beautiful sunset backdrops on the Emerald Coast, it’s quickly becoming one of Destin’s most sought-after wedding venues.
As a Destin & 30A wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of photographing events at The Alice and am honored to be an official Preferred Vendor. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why so many couples fall in love with this incredible property.
Preferred Vendor at The Alice
I’m honored to be an official Preferred Wedding Photographer at The Alice. My familiarity with the property allows me to guide couples to the best portrait locations, recommend ideal photo timing, and create a seamless photography experience from beginning to end.

Why Couples Choose The Alice
Unlike a traditional ballroom or hotel venue, The Alice feels like a private waterfront estate where your closest family and friends can celebrate together all weekend long.
It offers an intimate atmosphere while still accommodating elegant celebrations, making it perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel personal, relaxed, and elevated.
Many couples describe it as having the feel of a luxury coastal retreat rather than a typical wedding venue.
What Makes The Alice So Special?
One of the biggest draws is that everything is beautifully connected.
Instead of guests traveling between multiple locations, your entire wedding weekend can unfold in one stunning place.
Highlights include:
- Waterfront ceremony locations overlooking Choctawhatchee Bay
- Private docks extending into the bay
- Luxury cottages for overnight accommodations
- Beautiful green lawns for outdoor celebrations
- Coastal architecture with timeless design
- Elegant indoor gathering spaces
- Multiple locations for portraits throughout the property
- Incredible sunset views almost every evening
The property was designed with both beauty and experience in mind, allowing couples to truly relax and enjoy every moment.
The Perfect Wedding Weekend
Destination weddings have evolved into full wedding weekends, and The Alice is perfectly suited for this style of celebration.
Imagine welcoming your guests on Friday evening, spending Saturday getting ready together in the beautiful cottages, celebrating your wedding overlooking the bay, and gathering one last time for brunch before everyone heads home.
The cottages create a comfortable, intimate atmosphere where everyone feels connected throughout the weekend.
Endless Photo Opportunities
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at The Alice is the incredible variety of locations available without ever leaving the property.
The Waterfront Dock
The dock is one of my favorite locations on the property.
Whether we’re capturing quiet portraits at sunset or celebrating just after the ceremony, it offers unobstructed views of the bay and creates timeless, romantic photographs.
Golden hour here is simply magical.
Bay Views
The sparkling water becomes a natural backdrop throughout the day, creating clean, elegant imagery that highlights both the couple and the beauty of the Emerald Coast.
The Cottages
The beautifully designed cottages provide wonderful spaces for getting ready photographs.
Large windows, neutral interiors, and thoughtful design allow natural light to fill the rooms, creating timeless bridal and groom preparations.
These spaces photograph beautifully while allowing everyone to relax before the ceremony.
Lush Grounds
The manicured lawns, mature trees, pathways, and landscaped gardens provide beautiful portrait locations throughout the day.
Because everything is within walking distance, we can create incredible variety without spending valuable wedding time traveling.
Sunset Along the Bay
Perhaps the most unforgettable feature of The Alice is its sunsets.
As the sun lowers over Choctawhatchee Bay, the property glows with warm golden light, creating some of the most romantic portraits imaginable.
This is always one of my favorite parts of the wedding day.
A Venue Made for Boaters
One of the unique aspects of The Alice is its connection to the water.
Couples who love boating—or simply love the coastal lifestyle—can incorporate the bay into their celebration in ways that few venues allow.
Whether arriving by boat, incorporating waterfront portraits, or simply enjoying the peaceful setting, the bay becomes an unforgettable part of the wedding experience.
It’s a distinctly Destin experience that reflects the beauty of Florida’s Emerald Coast.
Wedding Design Trends at The Alice
The Alice naturally lends itself to sophisticated coastal celebrations.
Popular wedding styles include:
Modern Coastal
Soft whites, natural textures, lush greenery, and elegant candlelight create a timeless aesthetic that perfectly complements the venue.
Editorial Luxury
The clean architecture, waterfront scenery, and beautifully designed interiors provide the perfect backdrop for modern editorial wedding photography.
Organic Garden Romance
Many couples soften the contemporary architecture with abundant florals, layered textures, and natural greenery for an effortlessly romantic atmosphere.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings at The Alice
Every venue has its own personality.
The Alice feels peaceful.
There’s an elegance here that never feels formal or overwhelming. Couples are able to relax, spend meaningful time with family and friends, and truly enjoy every part of their wedding day.
As an official Preferred Vendor, I’m familiar with the property, the best lighting throughout the day, the most beautiful portrait locations, and how to make the most of every corner of this incredible venue.
That familiarity allows me to work efficiently while creating a relaxed experience for my couples.
Photography Tips for Your Wedding at The Alice
To make the most of everything The Alice has to offer, I recommend setting aside 20–30 minutes around sunset for portraits. The golden light reflecting off Choctawhatchee Bay creates some of the most romantic and flattering images of the entire day.
The private dock is one of my favorite locations for intimate portraits, while the cottages provide beautiful natural light for getting-ready photos and candid moments with your bridal party. The manicured grounds, waterfront pathways, and lush landscaping also offer a variety of backdrops without ever having to leave the property.
One of the greatest advantages of The Alice is that everything is within walking distance. We can move seamlessly between the cottages, ceremony site, dock, and reception while maximizing your photography time and allowing you to spend more of your wedding day celebrating with family and friends.
Is The Alice Right for Your Wedding?
The Alice is an excellent choice for couples who:
- Dream of a waterfront wedding
- Love modern coastal architecture
- Want luxury without feeling overly formal
- Prefer an intimate wedding weekend experience
- Value beautiful photography
- Want accommodations for family and friends
- Appreciate incredible sunsets and natural scenery
It’s a venue that offers both beauty and experience—and that’s what makes it truly unforgettable.
